Made during the 1st age of Middle-earth in the Mines of Moria. Surrounding the portrait of Durin, the father of Dwarves, inscribed in Dwarvish, are the words DURIN TURGUL KHAZAD-DÛM, “Durin, King Under Moria.” On the reverse, are the letters BK, meaning BARUK KHAZÂD, “Axes of the Dwarves.”

The Dwarven Axe of Durin coin pendant is crafted in celebration of the The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien.  The coin is struck from solid copper. It is presented on a 30" leather cord. Coin artwork by Greg Franck-Weiby.

This coin is treated to look as if they have been handled and circulated. This process is done by hand, and it is both an art and a science. Coloring and patinas will vary. No two coins are exactly the same! Coins are struck one at a time in the USA using antique machinery and traditional coining techniques. A colorful description is included with history, translations, and facts about the coin.
