Upon waking from his long slumber near earth, Bill inadvertently picked up the legendary Asgardian hammer Mjolnir, receiving its power after being judged worthy. Though this act led to an initial conflict between the newly empowered Bill and the hammer's original owner, the mighty Thor, the two soon recognized each other as fellow warriors and came to develop a deep respect. Impressed, the Allfather Odin dubbed Bill an honorary Asgardian and fashioned him a mystical weapon of his own, the enchanted hammer Stormbringer.
