Lord of the Rings Gandalf the Grey Staff Prop Replica Fellowship Version

A handpainted polyresin prop replica of the staff and pipe of Gandalf the Gray as seen in the Hobbit Film trilogy. The removable pipe prop replica nests into the crown of the staff. Note that the Gandalf pipe is a filled, non-functional, resin replica of the prop used in the films.

As part of his effort to link the six films of his Middle-earth movies together, Peter Jackson wanted Gandalf's The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies staff to be the same one he would later carry in The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. Working backwards from the original staff design, Alan Lee and Thaw Naing of the 3 Foot 7 art department redesigned the root crown, adding longer twisted branches. Production sculptor Anneke Bester added the new branch features to a casting made from an original movie prop, leaving the original rune carved into the staff visible. Where Radagast would store his blue crystal in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Gandalf would later store his pipe and add a nail spike into the side of the shaft. During The Bale of the Five Armies the staff would endure a beating, breaking many of the root branches off, until by the end of the battle we see it in the same worn-down form it had in The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring.

Cast in polyresin with authentic details and coloring, the attached polyresin pipe and spike replicas are removable, and the staff comes with a polystone wall display that matches the display design of United's other staff replicas from The Hobbit.
